This wonderful video class on the way to cure diabetes is a life saver for diabetics. I am not the author but Dr. Jason Fung explains how. Watch free YouTube video

I am diabetic. Was diagnosed with Type 2 in 2009. I have been on oral medications and have controlled my blood sugars very carefully, but my diabetes has been getting worse. I have now decided to follow Dr. Fungs' advice, and he has been kind enough to agree to treat me online free.
He lives in Canada and I am from Chennai, India.

His methods are also simple and cheap without the need for expensive medication, in fact his method will make life much easier as far as medical and food bills are concerned.

Since he was himself the head of a major kidney health organisation and hospital in Ontario, Canada,  and was by his own admission treating diabetics the wrong way (It was mainly due to the misinformation that was prevalent in medical circles for the last 30 years) he is now setting things right by treating the patients the right way, which is mostly a modification of diet. His very simple methods are getting amazing cures in very short periods of time and they are permanent - as long as one does not revert to bad eating habits afterwards.

I can really go on, and on, about this subject, but watching the video and others by Dr. Fung is surely the way to understand all the misconceptions that are still prevalent all over the world. One can get the link for his IDM-Intensive Dietary Management course from the YouTube video or by visiting his site: https://intensivedietarymanagement.com/theory/

That is object of this blog and of course, my own suffering with neuropathy and retinopathy, all part of progressive diabetes even though being treated with medications blood sugars being maintained exactly. I got no relief after visiting the best diabetic centres in India. They all follow the same old wrong method of treatment and nutrition.  I am going to follow Dr. Fung and indeed have set about changing my diet radically as suggested by him.

Being a qualified but non-practicing doctor, an MBBS from  Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, it is easy for me to understand Dr. Fung and see how clear his vision is; and also the correctness of his method.

The most difficult obstacle for me is going to be convincing the non-medical members of my household that the diets and cures touted by doctors around the world, and in India, are wrong and letting them see the effects of Dr. Fungs advice for themselves.

I envisage a particularly difficult time with my wife, but all things change when one changes, so I am not afraid to say that they will, and  that there is a bright and healthy future to look forward to.

I have written this in a hurry as my newly wed daughter leaves for Europe in the early hours of the morning, and we have a ton of things on our hands to ensure the safe trip of the couple.

I will be back with my experiences and my difficulties, as regularly as possible. This perhaps is my biggest challenge. That and keeping the diet for a month or two. I expect good results much sooner as I am not on insulin and have tried to maintain minimal dosage of medication by constantly checking my blood sugars personally.

To all my fellow sufferers of diabetes, my sympathies and a prayer; that this bit of good news will give you hope for a better life, as it has for me. I was waiting to die, now I look forward  to live.

Thank you,
Dr. Nicolas Vincent Rao
